What is Gestalt Therapy?
Gestalt Therapy is entering into a process to free yourself to grow in a natural way, based on the belief we all essentially have what we need inside us, only the circumstance of our lives, particularly childhood, have caused us to block out vital, important parts of ourselves as a protective mechanism. So it is about freeing up natural, spontaneous wisdom, joy, excitement, connection and possibility in life, while seeing the message in feelings we might want to push away like pain, grief, anger etc.
How does Gestalt Therapy work?
Healing and growth comes by awareness, experience, and contact. I work in a holistic way, which involves body, emotions, mind and heart; and give my attention, presence and compassion to helping your process unfold. Supportive and sometimes challenging, the focus is on you. Of course there will be talking, and there can also be body awareness, experiment, role-play, movement, use of voice – much is possible and nothing is required by me or pushed upon you.
